Trump’s travel ban keeps orphan kids from US foster families

SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA (AP) — a range of brand new refugee bans and travel restrictions that the Trump administration states will block terrorists have stopped a three-decade-old U.S. system for alleged unaccompanied refugee minors.

The program is for children who had been made refugees by war or persecution that orphans or elsewhere irreparably separated from their parents.

Because the 1980s, this has brought significantly more than 6,000 refugee children in to the United States, including 203 last year.

Today, significantly more than 100 refugee children who had been currently matched to US foster people tend to be stranded in limbo internationally as they await the outcome of courtroom hearings in the case.
